Whether or not you have parties and events to go to in the run up to Christmas, looking fab is really important for your state of mind. When we look in the mirror and like what we see, it helps us to project confidence - which makes us even more attractive!

This month I am going to talk to you about eye make up as well as treatments in the salon.

Looking fab for the festive season - At home

There are lots of gorgeous colours to choose from no matter which cosmetic company you prefer. Why not be a little daring and try something you wouldn't normally choose for a change? If you don't feel brave enough to try a vibrantly coloured eyeshadow how about one of the coloured eye liners that are around, or mascaras?

But what are the tricks to making your eye make up look good?

• Prepare the area well - make sure you have cleansed thoroughly
• Put a light covering of foundation around the eye and then powder thoroughly to blot any grease and keep the eye make up in place
• If you prefer using a powder eye shadow as opposed to a cream don't load the brush too heavily - you can always add more, and it will avoid ending up with it all over your cheekbones!
• Start with a neutral base colour that works with the colour palette you are using - for example lilac if you are using purples, silver if you are using greys. Apply this to the whole of the lid except the brow area.
• Then choosing a dark colour apply to the base of the lashes - below the eye too, and then build up on the outer corner of the eye. Blend thoroughly with a clean brush.
• Add a highlighter or paler colour to the brow area.
• Then apply eye liner. Don't be afraid of the lovely liquid eyeliners - do small feather strokes rather than trying to do one long line. And try turning the eye liner up in the corners for an on trend feline look.
• Finish off with two coats of mascara

Looking fab for the festive season - In the salon

Of course there are lots of great treatments in the salon to help you look fab. If you have nails you'd rather hide then why not try my gorgeous fibreglass nails? They are really strong and natural looking, so ideal for stuffing the turkey and no need to varnish if you don't want to. If you are happy with your nails, why not treat yourself to a manicure instead?

Look bare, tanned and wonderful by combining body sugaring - to defuzz all those unwanted hairy areas, and the fabulous Sienna X spray tan. Again, I am running a special promotion on these treatments before Christmas. You will need to leave 24 hours between sugaring and the tan.
