Welcome to my November newsletter. Yes, it's that time of year again! That time when we dust off our Little Black Dress ready for the party season, and groan about all our good intentions to shed a few pounds, that didn't quite work!

But don't worry because I have some ideas to help you prepare for the seasonal fesitivities and look your very best.

Looking good in your Little Black Dress - At Home

The most important thing is to be realistic and not panic. There are only just over 7 weeks until Christmas, and you are bound to be going to events before the big day. Unless you do something very radical (which I definitely do not recommend) you are not going to lose a huge amount of weight before then. But you will be pleased to know you can still lose weight, and reduce the risks of putting more on:

• If you are going to a buffet try to eat before you go, then you will be less tempted to graze
• Go for dips that are tomato based such as salsa which are far less naughty than all those creamy ones, and eat crudites rather than crisps
• If you drink white wine make it last longer by having spritzers with soda water. If you're a red wine or spirit drinker alternate alcohol with water to keep the calories down, and you'll keep a clearer head! Even better offer to be the driver, which stops the temptation to drink too much
• At home plan your meals so you know what you are going to eat for dinner. You will be far less likely to nibble or resort to something naughty if it is all planned in advance.
• Keep your fluid intake up, but remember that fruit juices have hidden calories. If you keep to water or black coffee or tea you won't be consuming calories but will be flushing the system and filling yourself up.
• Have some fruit that you enjoy at home so if you have a nibbly moment you can eat that rather than a biscuit.

Looking good in your Little Black Dress - In the Salon

Of course looking great isn't just about being a weight and shape we feel comfortable with. One of the most sure fire ways to look healthy is to have a suntan. This time of the year that's a bit of a challenge so why not have a Sienna X spray tan - just like all the celebrities on Strictly Come Dancing! You don't need to be quite as brown as they are - they have to combat the harsh studios lights, but you can have a natural glow to enhance your body and set off your party outfits.
